I've had it for years, but I thought it would let up by now! What would cause me to still have oily skin at age 41?
Hormones in your body cause your sebaceaous glands to produce a lot of oil. This is generally seen in teenagers or around our periods, but some people have sebaceous glands that work overtime all the time. I'm sure It is frustrating to you to still be dealing with oiliness and possibly breakouts at an age that you feel you should have outgrown them. In some respects, though, you should consider yourself fortunate. Your skin is well-hydrated and will retain a more youthful appearance for a longer period of time. For many people, dry skin becomes a problem as we age. Dry skin is more susceptible to sun damage and wrinkles, and often has a rough, flaky appearance. Use a cleanser formulated for oily skin, a toner, and shine control make-up (if you don't already). Try to look at this as a positive thing. When your oil glands stop functioning full force, you will probably look much younger than your peers. What would cause me to still have oily skin at age 41?
Everybody's body is different, some are dry and some oily. I'm 50 and also have oily skin.
don't sweat it! like the others said, oily skin is less prone to wrinkling than dry skin. just keep the oil blotting sheets nearby. :D
Maybe thyroid problems?...but probably just one of those things..you can get that proactive and try that or principal secret scrub and creams keep my skin very nice.
its just your skin type. Hey, lots of people in their 30s still get acne
Are you using a good moisturizer? Sounds contradictory but my dermatologist told me that the most common mistake people with oily skin make is not using a moisturizer, thinking that their skin is so oily already that they don't need one. What this does actually is trigger your skin to produce MORE oil because it is not being properly hydrated. You need to use a moisturizer regularly that is specifically formulated for oily skin.
just wash more..
what can we say really?
genes, i come from an oily family so yeah im gonna be like tht when i get older. its just overactive oil glands
your diet most of all,i think. but oily skin is less likely to have wrinkles early,it can be a good thing.
