Whats the best kind of foundation for oily skin?

Liquid or mousse? and whats the best drugstore brand?

i hate powder :PWhats the best kind of foundation for oily skin?
i have unbelievably scary nasty oily skin and mousse works wonders on me.Whats the best kind of foundation for oily skin?
hello,

well if you have an oily skin and you hate powders I think your skin is dehydrated

basically when your skin is oily is has an excess of oil called sebum that provides u this sort of shine , but being oily makes you purifying your skin a lot , so you can become dehydrated, lack of water.that's why you should use a hydrating primer with an oil free balanced foundation such as Nars or Shu uemura is a very good one and as a primer , laura mercier is quite good,

et voila,

good luck , and take care

Best make-up or powder to cover up acne scars for someone with oily skin?

I need to know which one of these would work best to cover up acne scars: Almay, Clinique, Este Lauder, Lancome, Mac, Neutrogena, or Neostrata?

P.S. my skin is sensitive so I need something Non-Comedogenic, Oil Free and Fragrance FreeBest make-up or powder to cover up acne scars for someone with oily skin?
Try bare minerals powder. Not a substitute, use bare minerals. looks totally natural, and cover very very well.Best make-up or powder to cover up acne scars for someone with oily skin?
You should check out Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals. They have a night facial , non-comedogenic oil free fragrance free that you can put on before you go to bed,it covers it up and the minerals begin to rejuvenate your face during the night and you can wash it off in the morning. Doesn't ruin your pillow case either. And it is also advertised for helping men as well, so don't you worry bout that.

It can also be worn in the day time as a cover up.

Or they have bare minerals foundations. Actually a whole line that can match your skin and looks like you're not wearing anything at all, all while helping your skin growth so that you're not forever covering the scars, they will diminish.

Good luck butter cup :)
hmmmmm your a dude. !
A lot of the mineral make up companies have concealers that are not harmful to the skin.

Just for the record - girl or guy, we all deal with these issues! (Except those of you with perfect skin.....)
Bare Minerals. Not only will it help cover up acne and and scars, it will improve your skin the way your skin feels and looks.
being a guy you will look bizarre. for acne scars, why don't you try some retin-a cream from your derm if they are severe? if they aren't severe, you can get glycolic acid and give yourself a chemical peel at home and that will make a huge difference. also, try using some exfoliant, like st. ives.
Seriously get bee luscious cosmetics its for anyone and the results are AWESOME!

I have the same issue and I have tried all of the foundations. My favorite is Lancome Tient Idole. Its matte, so it provides really good coverage and its also oil free snf non- comrdogenic.
i use neutrogena. only stuff that didn't break me out worse. this stuff actually helped clear up my skin a bit. i use the cover-up cream and the foundation stuff, and also the face wash in the shower too.

Actually I would say don't do one at all. It will probably bring on a breakout. If you do a facial you will be opening up your pores and then the oil will come back and fill them up and cause a massive breakout- Home facials rarely work!! I would say invest in a good skin care system that is oil free and exfoliate rather than give yourself a facial. go to a professional for a facial if you really need to have one and let your skin breathe for the whole rest of the day ie- don't put makeup on for the rest of the day.
wash yr face with smooth soap.

In market a facial bar available by name FACIA or Fasia it is a quick facial soap %26amp; keep your face normal a long time.

My skin is oily and dry at the same time?

My skin is dry in a lot of places- around my nose, my mouth, under my eyes, and right above my eyebrows. Like, so dry that it's flaking.

But then on my forehead and nose, it's reeeaaallllyy oily and breaking out. What do I do?My skin is oily and dry at the same time?
Skin of a person is really susceptible to poor diet.Vitamin A is essential for the growth and repair of body tissues.Other causes of dryness may be linked to poor intake of sulphur or essential fatty acids or be caused by dehydration.Insufficient vit.C can also cause dry skin and easy bruising.Vitamin E is an essential part of cell membrane.

The key to smooth glowing skin is to eat a balanced diet that contains a wide range of nutrients.Vitamin A is found in whole milk, cheese, butter, egg yolk, liver, oil rich fish and dark green vegetables.sulphur rich foods include meat, fish, nuts, cheese and eggs.Vitamin E is found in vegetable oils, margarine, nuts and eggs.Go in for balanced diet to improve your skin condition.

I have severe acne and very oily skin. What are some treaments?

Over the counter products don't seem to work at all. I've tried tetracycline and that doesn't work. What are some other Treatments?I have severe acne and very oily skin. What are some treaments?
Dear friend,

fisrt of all u have to sleep enogh....dont smoke(or try make it less),have a good nutrition...and if u do some sport it will be better...

secound u have to avoid sun shine ...its better if u use sun protection cream which has the SPF ove than 25% ...any kind of course some brands are better ....and every3 hrs renew the cream if u are out of home or office....and even use them if its not a shiny day...

third always wash ur face with some good soap(not cosmetic) after u removing ur make up....cuz make up damage our skin and even some remover use it too.....

forth....usually hydratate ur skin with the cream(its better if u try to use some brand that are not cosmetic brands )....

and at least u can visit a dermatologist...they can help a lot these days

First Q is how old are u and of course male or female and which nationality u have?

-The acne treatment depends on what kind of acne u have...we have many differen treatment for therm...

-First Step is avoid sun shine...u can use some protection cream which has the SPF over than 25%...then if u are a smoker have to decrease the number of them....decrease the fat food u take(oily.fast food.chips...)....drink enough water (more than 2 lits a day)....wash ur face with no bacter soap(at least twice a day)...if u are a girl dont use bad brand of make up stuff and wash ur make up as soon as possible(even if u use removal cream ).....if u start any mild sport like areobic or even jogging it will make ur skin better....take good nutrition and vegetable....

-secound we have some locolize solution ...they are antibactrial like erythromycin 1% and ....u can use them once every 2 nights on ur acnes(avoid 2 cm around ur eyes and 2 cm around ur mouth including ur nasolabial lines)....

-third u can use systemic antibiotics like tetracyclin or doxi by the order of ur G.P or dermatologist....

-if non of them work or u have cystic acne with scar u have to use a drug calls Actane its full of Vit A , it has his own order and u just can have it by a dermatolog ...

-we have some other treatments like Microdermabration(its usefull for black spots),pilling(deep and superficial) for make the acne and the scar of them goes....

its better if u visit a dermatologist.

Good Luck

P.S:proactive is just a comercial brand ...not very useful

.

,

go to ur dermatologist and tell him/her ab the acutane i think it will be usefull for u ...but cuz i didnt visit u and dont see ur skin i cant ask u to use itI have severe acne and very oily skin. What are some treaments?
What ever you do, don't get a facial they say it helps but all it does is spread it around i recommend proactive.
If you have severe cystic acne, the only permanent or at least long term cure that I have seen is accutane. Its a painful medication with tons of side effects but worth asking your dermatologist about it. NEVER buy it from fake online places - it could cause really serious side effects include birth defects if you get pregnant. But it does really work.
Here are some home remedies you can try
For the acne I've had really good luck with Acne Free (claims to be like ProActive, but I get it at Target). For the oily skin - nothing I've tried has worked. In fact, if you EVER find anything that actually works past lunch time please let me know!
I use tetracycline and proactive, it seems to help.
Water and soap always works. With patience, it'll go away. Or try using water and salt if you want to.
just put alcohol on them......they go away in like a week..PROMISE

yea its really deadly too. he might get stuff from you like a monthly problem. you better break up with him because a lot of stuff will down in the world. My boyfriend has really oily skin--can he give me oily skin?
    you're stupid

    no
Yeah, you better stop making out. Or look online for facial barriers.
    No
There is no possible way he could be spreading it. You may just need to wash your face more. Or maybe since you have noticed it you started to get peranoid. Its not his fault. Hold on tight!

Whats the right skin care for oily skin?

do i use a face wash, cleanser, toner

    or a scrub, cleaner, toner

    etc. :)

any other tips appreciated too! ;DWhats the right skin care for oily skin?
i have a great clean routine that really worked for me, try this

Before you go to bed, and right when you wake up

Wash your face with warm water

Cleanse your face, Neautrogena Oil-FreeAcne wash works really well for me

Next, dab your face dry with a washcloth

(optional, and if you do, do this step only once or twice a week): apply a scrub, i find that st.ives apricot scrub is really nice and refreshing.

Next, for oily skin, apply a light layer of toner, neautrogena alcohol-free toner works nicely

and lastly, apply a thin layer of mosturizer even if you have oily skin, i like ponds dry skin cream :)

and vwalaa, try not to pick at blemises, or wash your face more then twice a day

    this realy worked for me!

hope this helps :)Whats the right skin care for oily skin?
If you have acne, dont use an exfoliator more than once a week. Dont get a scrub either. That will irritate the skin and cause you to break out .Avoid anything glycolic. Get a cleanser for oily/combination skin (it should say on the container), a toner isn't necessary but it is a good addition to your regimen, then follow with an oil free noncomedogenic moisturizer and use an oil free noncomedogenic sunscreen every 2-3 hours while out in the sun.

Just remember to cleanse/tone, moisturizer, and protect. Since you have oil skin, look for oil-control cleansers and mattifying moisturizers.

EDIT*** ponds dry skin cream is not good for your skin type. It is not oil-free.

If you want affordable products, get

    either Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

or the Neutrogena Clear Pore Cleanser Mask

I dont recommend the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. It had bad reviews and only had a rating of 2.9/5 at makeupalley.

As for toner, I recommend the Nivea Alcohol-Free Moisturizing Toner.

and for moisturizer..try the Olay Complete UV Protective Moisture Lotion SPF 15.

It has SPF already included in it. =]

For my oily skin I use a cleanser/toner combo but I stay away from those acne cleansers, which tend to be just as harsh as hand soap - they tend to over dry the skin, and then the skin over produces oil. Not good, at least that's been my experience.

I personally use and recommend Coonobabe

Pepino (cucumber based) cleanser for oily skin, but also have used their Kepaya (papaya based) just as effective. These cleansers do not strip dry my skin like those acne cleansers do.

I follow it by the Savila toner, I apply it after washing with cleanser, pat dry with clean towel. apply toner and allow to air dry. If your skin is somewhat sensitive try their Seng %26amp; Sang toner. On hot/humid days I repeat this process but it's worth it if you want clean to the touch skin. Hope this helps you.

    Google Coonobabe

btw ; they ship 4 free, made in USA, and do not test on animals
Well, I use Exfoliating Walnut %26amp; Wood Apple Face Scrub in the mornings. Then I use Olay Beauty Fluid as a moisturizer and at night I use Neem %26amp; Turmeric Face Wash.

Lemon juice is good for oily skin.. use home-made toner with lemon juice and fresh spring water daily, a skin cleaner gel with honey, a moisturizing cream with aloe( use daily) and a clay mask twice a week.
    I think a cleanser.

Why is my skin so OILY and what can i do?

im 16 yo guy....get ocasional pimples here and there but not so many.

yet my skin is always all oily and sometimes people can see their reflections on my forehead...what products can i buy for this or home remedies too.Why is my skin so OILY and what can i do?
Don't waste your money on Tazarac. Just by rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and get a rough feeling towel. I have some friends who use straight bleach, but I haven't built up the tolerance for it. Once your product is applied, let it dry (preferably in direct sunlight-but a blow dryer works) and then wipe off any excess alcohol/hp/bleach vigorously with the towel. Why is my skin so OILY and what can i do?
well i am 16 too, i use clear %26amp; clean, you can find it almost any were, well at wall mart for sure. its a sope. ';morning burst'; helps a lot, just wash your face in the morning, and it will be all good, don't use it to much like during the day, cause that way your face will have even more oil. and stop using it once in a while...
there is a product called tazarac. its a little exspensive tho. my brother had to get that one time too. it basically dries out your skin. ask your dermatologist. dont have one? get one! haha
Blotting sheets by Clean %26amp; Clear work well.

Does this mean I have OILY skin?

Without makeup on it feels dry but when I have makeup on it my face feels itchy and hot? But it's clean other than the makeup I have on? And I wash it throughly every night...

Ever answer is appreciated, I really want some insight into my skin type!Does this mean I have OILY skin?
Have you tried using another make up brand??? Have you noticed any change in the feeling when the weather changes?? SInce you say that your skin is never oily when its clear it doesnt sound like oily skin you might be having a combination skin type. The makeup might be blocking your pores and thats why you feel itchy. Try switching cosmetic brands, try lancome or any other brand that has water based cosmetics which might make you feel better.

I hope this helps you :]

What is your suggenstion for oily skin to be healthy and acne free?

According to my opinion you have to focus in two fields.

    - Basically, keep it clean using good antiseptic products, like soap, lotion, cream and powder that will absorb any oily secretions.I use to buy them in the pharmacy.

Use a product for peeling,at least once weekly, that will deliberate your skin from dead cells.Use it preferably before going to bed in order to avoid irritations.

In the market you can find some products containing fruit acids; they are very effective if you follow the instructions but take care because if the amount is over 7.5% they may cause allergies.

Some times also a boric acid solution that is the antiseptic used for the cure of eyes can help if buffered after soap and water.

    - Then, take care of your lifestyle ie. eating drinking, smoking, sleeping, exercising.I mean light food, more yoghurt, carrots and fruits, brewers yeast as a food supplement can also help,no chocolates, no alcohol, no cigarettes and less stress. I would suggest aerobic; it is very pleasant and relaxing and contributes also in the prevention of other diseases, I would say contributes in aging healthy.

    - Visit your doctor and have a test for policystic ovaries; it is a disorder that can cause acne. What is your suggenstion for oily skin to be healthy and acne free?
Two friends use Proactiv and it seems to work wonders on them. What is your suggenstion for oily skin to be healthy and acne free?
i hv oily skin too. i wash mine every four hours. sleep with fresh cucumbers on ur face. add moisture to ur skin.
I agree with all of the above, some acne comes from the type of foods you eat, that contain fine oils, keep it clean, dont over do it, most acne creams and what not have the same active chemicals, it can get exspencive, as you get older acne in most cases go away, still follow what is

    said above.

Is an astringent or mask better for oily/combination skin?

I'm thinking of getting either Dickinson cleansing astringent or mint julep masque. Is an astringent or mask better for oily/combination skin?
I have found the best product for oily skin. I've always had really oily skin but not really too many breakouts so everything I tried for oily skin included a lot of alcohol and acids for breakouts. I'm not sure if you've ever heard of The Body Shop before but I fell in love with the Tea Tree Oil products so much I had to start selling them so I could take advantage of the discount. http://www.thebodyshopathome.com/web/rikie.

I use to wake up with this like layer of oil on my face until I started 1) using the right products and 2) using a 3 step clense, tone, moisturize processIs an astringent or mask better for oily/combination skin?
I would use astringent sea breeze, it's better then mask...
To keep your face from being oily you should start with a good skincare system. A system would consist of a cleanser, a toner, a scrub and oil fre moisterizer.

Cleanse both morning and night before bed. You toner (astringent) should NEVER have alcohol in it. Alcohol will make you body produce more oil. If you breakout frequently you will want a system that is formulated with acne-fighting salicylic acid not benzol peroxide.

I can recommend really great skincare systems.

    Hope this helps
Astringents usually contain alcohol, which is bad for all skin types, so it's a good idea to stay away from them. If you feel like you absolutely need an astringent, use witch hazel, it is less drying. Masks, however are a great choice for oily/combination skin. I reccommend using one with clay in it to absorb excess oil and help purify the skin. You can use a mask once a week, any more often can overdry and irritate your skin.
Hi, I've never used an astringent before only because it sounds quite harsh to use continously on your face. I have heard however, that Clean and Clear do a good astringent which you could read up on (http://www.nextag.com/clean-clear-astrin鈥?/a>

I personally have always used a mask and the one I would recommend is from Clean and Clear. However, be warned this mask really drags the oils out so don't use more than once a week. I do suggest you use a really good oil free cleanser. I thoroughly recommend Clean and Clear's Deep cleansing oil free face wash. I know I sound like some kind of Clean+Clear consultant!!but it is truly amazing, smells great and your skin feels so tingly and refreshed after using it. I also suffer from combo/oily skin which sometimes gets flaky too! I have started using Clean and Clear's cooling toner to add to my skincare routine and to cut down on oil I bought a bottle of 100% pure tea tree oil as I had heard this is quite good for oily skin. What I do is, at night I add a few drops of the tea tree oil to my C+C face wash, rinse and then use the toner and moisturise.( Remember to moisturise btw as even oily skin needs moisture and if your decide to use tea tree oil, test it out on a small part of your body/face to see if you get a reaction to it). So far it has only been the second night, and (the tea tree oil does have an overwhelming scent, but it doesn't last very long as I wash it off) it is a little premature to see if both the toner and the tea tree oil has had any positive effects but the simple fact that my face has not come out in a rash or feels irritated is good enough for me to carry on. Hope this has been useful and good luck!x
I have always done better using a clay type masque once a week than using astringents. Astringents tend to irritate the skin. Use the mask according to directions on package.

When it's time to remove the clay masque, use a lukewarm washcloth and hold it over your entire face for about 30 seconds to soften it, then gently wipe off the masque, taking care to not miss areas around your nostrils. Avoid rubbing because that will stimulate the oil production.

Avoid scrubs for the same reason. Don't overdo the masque, just a thin layer evenly about once a week.

I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.

Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!

Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts?

However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.

Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.

However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.

If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.

If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.

The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.

The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?

Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:

    www.aboutyourskincare.com

You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.

Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.

They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.

A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):

    Night time:

    1. Exfoliate the skin

    2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).

    4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts

    5. Moisturizer

    Morning:

    1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser

    2. Moisturizing cream

The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

As I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.

    Good Luck to you,

MichelleWhat should i do for oily skin?
The pimples that are appearing on your face are due to your oily skin which is clogging your pores and making the pimples to appear. You need to use a moisturizer that helps to fight acne as well as removes the excess oil from your skin.

A good herbal product that I would like to recommend is Zenmed's Sebum Regulating Mositurizer. Since it is herbal it would suit when used on any skin type without clogging the skin pores. The moisturizer helps to maintain and control optimum sebum levels of the skin in order to get acne free and clear skin. A clear skin requires you to balance the pH levels on your skin and this moisturizer does that.

Also drink lots of water and try to cut down on oily and junk food.
An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details on oily skin log on to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/

um you can make many different masks

  • I have oily skin, but if I showered less, what might happen?

A friend of mine went on a week long camping trip and came back suprised with how healthy their skin felt without showering. Now they are able to shower every other day with still feeling clean. I have oily skin, and always have tried to combat this. Is it possible that if I let my skin be for a while, a biological process would occur and I would produce less oil?I have oily skin, but if I showered less, what might happen?
Well I can tell you what I know from my experience. Most people don't have oily skin at all. They genetically have combo or a drier skin type that is over producing oil to compensate for the dehydration. Mainly its due to over washing, hot water in the shower, caffeine, drying skin care products, not drinking enough water and climate.

Also, when washing too much you remove the protective layer of skin called the ';acid mantle'; when your skin is totally exposed it can let in dirt, pollution, bacteria and free radicals.

Soooooo your friend is right. Your skin would balance it self out.

But instead of just not showering as much here is a few tips. At the end of your shower use luke warm water to wash. Not hot. Use a cream gentle cleaner or a very light gel cleaner. Only exfoliate 1-2 times a week. Also, wash your face at night....go to bed and in the a.m. just splash your face with water. Don't re-wash. You did nothing but sleep!I have oily skin, but if I showered less, what might happen?
They might've been on to something. Perhaps the hot steam could be drying to the skin which would then cause it to produce more oil to overcompensate. I don't think you have to skip showers but try showering with warm water instead of hot. Also don't scrub too vigorously and use gentle cleansers, never body soap.
to one of your answers; my brothers always used body soap for there face and up to date they never had a dam pimple they have perfect skin.I use it as well to take my make up off and it works great and i never really breakout hardly ever.
I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

NOTE鈥 HAVE WRITTEN THIS LONG ANSWER TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS RELATING TO BECAUSE THEY COME UP SO OFTEN:

    OILY SKIN

    ACNE

    FACIAL LIGHTENING

    DEALING WITH ACNE SCARRING

    DEALING WITH STRETCH MARKS

    IMPROVING SKIN TONE

    PIMPLES

    BLACKHEADS

    EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT

    INGROWING HAIRS

    BODY ACNE

鈥HE INFO鈥橲 BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE. I鈥橫 36 NOW SO I鈥橵E HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES FOR QUITE A WHILE AND THOUGH MUCH OF THIS ANSWER MAY BE IRRELEVANT, I HOPE THERE'LL BE SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP YOU!

    GOOD LUCK!!!

RECOMMENDED SKIN CARE鈥 use clean and clear cream wash (good for sensitive skin or those that dry to easy) or Neutrogena clear skin make up remover wash. Both contain salicylic acid which prevents breakouts and gradually evens the skin tone out too. This is the most important thing you can do. I鈥檝e tried various 鈥榦il free鈥?鈥檚alicylic acid鈥?moisturisers but the best I鈥檝e found is the clean and clear on鈥 found the Neutrogena one actually seemed to aggravate my skin.

EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT!...The toothpaste things works! Put on a blob at night and put a bit of tissue over it so it doesn't make a mess. It cools the area down and reduces the inflammation. I also recommend the clean and clear advantage spot treatment gel.

HORMONAL SPOTS鈥ny female with spots I'd recommend trying dianette or yasmine contraceptive pills because if it's hormonal that can sort everything out within weeks鈥hough it can take a couple of months to get used to the pill.

FACIAL ACNE: AVOID鈥on't use harsh scrubs and peroxide products daily like some people do; that can dry your skin and make produce MORE oil...just exacerbating the problem. Many face packs I鈥檝e tried and those blackhead removal strips too seem to have caused problems.

I鈥檝e also had problems with those 鈥榝acial wipes鈥?made by clean and clear and Neutrogena because they鈥檙e too drying and when the top layer鈥檚 too dry, the oil gets stuck underneath and causes more problems!

Some say chocolate doesn鈥檛 affect it鈥t does for me and I don鈥檛 know how or why that should be but certain foods do seem to affect break out. Coffee is one of those things that seems to aggravate my skin too. So look out for anything you eat that might be making it worse.

HAIR PRODUCTS鈥e careful what products you use in your hair if it's long - certain conditioners have causes me to break out at times. Also be careful of hair gels, hair sprays and serums.

INGROWING HAIRS鈥or men or women鈥f you have oily skin, these are more likely. For men鈥se a facial scrub and avoid moisturisers that don鈥檛 have salicylic acid in them if you use a moisturiser. Some hair conditioners are much better lubricants than shaving cream too 鈥?so you might want to try that, and then was afterwards with a clean and clear was etc. Also I recommend the microdermabrasion kit mentioned later.

For women鈥axing seems to cause the main problem 鈥?we pay most attention to our faces. Waxing seems to be the main culprit as opposed to shaving or hair removal creams鈥o avoid in-growing hairs, make sure to exfoliate. I recommend using those exfoliating gloves 鈥?that way, you can use any kind of shower gel.

NUTRITION鈥 recommend taking a 100% multi vitamin/mineral complex 鈥?those little spots you get around your mouth can be due to a vitamin b deficiency for example. Also I recommend Omega 369 oils every day because they improve blood flow.

OLD WIVES TALE??...It's an 'old wives tale' type remedy - but a spoonful of cider vinegar and honey in hot water 3 times a day is meant to help EVERYTHING. It tastes nice too...kinda like honey and lemon X

HYDRATION鈥?Keep your hydration right by drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol and too much salt!

DEALING WITH SCARRING鈥here鈥檚 an excellent micro-dermabrasion scrub called 鈥榬e-finish鈥? by L'oreal. You only use it a couple of times a week (and use at night because it makes your face red!). It really works not just with the colouring but also the texture - smoothes it back out. It comes with it's own moisturiser which I don't use but I use the scrub at night a couple of times a week and put bio oil on which it supposed to help clear scarring and even skin tone.

If you get your skin relatively under control, try using '21 days Fade Cream' (which I get from eBay) because it quickly clears up any scarring. It鈥檚 a skin lightening cream and is very effective as long as your skin type agrees with it. Bio oil is a good alternative!

Also, to detract from the colour variations in your skin tone, I recommend using Benefit鈥檚 Posie Tint or Benetint lipstain 鈥?this can be put on your cheeks and lips (which also makes your teeth look whiter as an added bonus). Lipstain is better than lipstick because it doesn鈥檛 smudge and it stays on; you can put lip balm or lip gloss on over it. Also, if you use it (SPARINGLY) on your cheeks, it is just like putting water on there; it doesn鈥檛 aggravate the skin or cause breakouts.

Whats good acne medication for over night and oily skin?

I go to bed with good skin, wake up with a bunch of acne.

What will keep my face from breaking out over night?

    And i have oily skin.

What should i do about that.

People say if you OVER wash your face you can make it even more oily.

    help please.

what do you use that works?

and ive tried ALL the systems.Whats good acne medication for over night and oily skin?
Ha, I'm a guy like you.

I use to use all sorts of products, but in the end, I thought they all conned me out.

    Do this:

Mix 2 parts of extra virgin olive oil with 1 part of vinegar

I use 2 spoons of oil + 1 spoon of vinegar, mix it up, and apply to your face.

Olive oil is good because your skin sucks it all up quickly and so it doesn't block pores unless you put excess on. Vinegar kills the bacteria that give you spots.

I use this in the morning, afternoon and night (I put it in a small spray bottle) and ever since, I haven't got a spot (except one lol)

Good thing is that it's homemade and totally natural. If it stings too much, dilute the vinegar with waterWhats good acne medication for over night and oily skin?
Purity from Philosophy works great on all skin types. My oily skin problem disappeard since I've been using this product to wash my face.

Is it necassary to moisturize if you have oily skin?

Yeah! especially in the wintertime. I have a really bad issue with dry but oily skin. Try this:

    http://www.olay.com/boutique/complete/pr鈥?/a>

it costs about nine dollars...and it works reeeally well!Is it necassary to moisturize if you have oily skin?
I have oily skin and I have found that using the right moisturizer really does help control the oil. It also helps make-up go on better and stay on longer.

I've found that some of the ones that are labeled for oily skin did not help, at all. So, it takes a lot of trial and error to find the right one for your skin. Some are too heavy while others are too light. It also doesn't help that once I find one that works, the company discontinues it after a few years, forcing me to start the search all over again.

Right now, I'm using Olay's Complete All Day Moisture Lotion for combination/oily skin. I use it with Olay's Clarify %26amp; Cleanse Daily Scrub and the matching toner.

If you decide to try the moisturizing lotion, don't confuse it with the mosturizing cream. I tried the cream first, because it's cheaper, and it didn't work as well. The cream comes in a tub/jar and the lotion comes in a 6 FL OZ bottle. Is it necassary to moisturize if you have oily skin?
    Yeaahhh.

    You can break out easily.
yes, your skin will become oilier to compensate for lack of moisture. use an oil free moisturizer like clinique's

    http://www1.macys.com/catalog/syndicated鈥?/a>

helps treat existing acne and prevent future breakouts. Creates a barrier against acne-causing agents. Helps control excess oil. Calms, soothes, reduces redness. Lightly hydrates to minimize dryness, peeling.
Yes. It is necessary. You would want to use an oil free moisturizer. If you don't moisturize, your skin will do it on it's own by creating extra oil.
It's a good idea to do that. I have very oily skin and I use a moisturizer especially for oily skin. Also, even oily skin can develop dry patches. My skin occassionally flakes on my forehead right above my nose and on my nose tip, and my foundation clogs up in those spots and makes it look nasty. Using a moisturizer will help to keep your skin smooth.
well i wouldn't say that you absoluteley HAVE too... but it wouldn't hurt. If you use a non- oil moisturizer, then it would probably help if you have dry skin and are wanting to moisturize it. But some moisturizers only make your skin more oily- so be careful. Aveeno works well for me.
    YES! =)

This may sound weird, but one of the most helpful things that aids in correcting oily skin is using an oil like jojoba or emu oil to moistuirze skin, at least at night. These oils help regulate/correct oil production. You'd only use 2-3 small drops on a clean wet face. Lure Beauty and Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics are great places to get great quality emu oil inexpensively. Jenulence, Milan Minerals and Garden of Wisdom carry jojoba oil...Milan has the least expensive of the three.

For daytime, you might prefer something thinner and good ideas are a natural aloe vera gel or natural light moisturizer made for oily skin like Aubrey Organics carries.

For your makeup, I'd look for something that uses Silk Powder, Pearl Powder or Avena Sativa - oat powder, in their ingredients; instead of zea mays - cornstarch or kaolin (or other) clays. Kaolin, clays and zea mays are known to be very drying and can cause skin to produce even more oils. The other ingredients can actually help not only maintain your olies, but also correct the oil production in time. Lumiere Mineral Cosmetics uses the ingredients I named and don't use clays or zea mays in their formulas.
I don't know if it's NECESSARY, but I would still. Your face can still dry out if you don't moisturize it and remain oily...weird but true. I suggest after washing your face, use an oil-free light MOISTURIZER (don't do lotion, they are different). Also, you can still carry those oil blotting sheets if it really bothers you. An oil-free moisturizer shouldn't make your face oily, but moisturizing keeps your skin healthy and younger longer.
oil-free moisturizer or thermal water will give u the moisture without making your skin more greasy than it is!

however I use clinique anti-blemish 3 step and its quite drying so after I apply my moisturizer it all get into my skin so Ive no probs.
Yes its very good to moisturize your skin ..%26amp; Clinique is my favorite moisturizer!! =)
YES! If your face doesn't recieve a moisturizer, the sebacious glands will over-compensate and products TOO MUCH oil! The cycle is endless. I use the Arbonne moisturizer because it actually keeps my skin just right! Very fresh :)

What are your fail-safe ways to keep your skin less oily/dry, and in good condition?

my skin is usually either or... its annoying.

would like to see other peoples ways to keep their skin healthy! What are your fail-safe ways to keep your skin less oily/dry, and in good condition?
i have combination skin, dry cheeks, very oily nose and forehead. I used to a lot of problems with my skin, but now i have pretty good skin, so here's what I do.

After my shower i rub some lotion (aveeno and cetaphil are good brands) all over. It makes you face less oily later since your skin will notice that it doesn't need to produce more oil.

Wait 5 min. and most importantly RINSE OFF EXTRA LOTION. this is were most people get stuck, if you don't wash then the excess lotion will come back out and irritate your skin so you'll have more oil and more dryness.

If you need to rinse you face with water throughout the day, but no soap.

If you shower in the morning/night then use a gentle cleanser at night/morning (cetaphil soap moisturizes and cleans), you don't need a deep clean every time, twice a week is enough. What are your fail-safe ways to keep your skin less oily/dry, and in good condition?
My skin is very very dry most of the time.

In the shower I use the Dove freshness line of body scrub (the yellow bottle) and a luffa. The scrub is awesome for my dry skin and the luffa helps make suds. It exfoliates, while the luffa takes of the top dead layer of skin.

Then after my shower, while my skin is still damp i use a regular body lotion. I like St. Ives, but any regular lotion from a Wal-Mart is good enough. Anything with added Vitamin E or Aloe is also good for the skin.

The only expensive thing is the face lotion i use. Its around $25 at walmart. I use Aveno skin illuminating cream on my face. I put it on after every shower and right before I put my make-up on. My skin is smooth, soft, I dont have any problems with pimples and the lotion has some sun screen in it. It also helps my make-up from drying out on my face.

In the winter time, when the air is really dry, i try to have at least 1 bath a week. It helps my skin keep more moisture.
If it's either oily or dry it could be that you are using too harsh a product. The harsh product overdries your skin then that dry area produces more oil to compensate. I would use a sensitive skin cleanser like Basis. It's wonderful. Or use clinique. Then on your t-zone where it's oily swipe some astringent. Use a mild lotion in areas that are dry but avoid putting in areas that are oily. It's all about balance.
    when it gets really dry just dab on a bit of moisturizer. you don't wanna put too much since it can sometimes make your skin too oily %26gt;_%26gt;

when it's oily, you can just go wash your face with water or some cleanser (don't use it too often though), or use when of those oil-absorbing pads.

and don't eat really greasy food. fries are okay once in a while, just make sure you don't survive on mcdonald's trans fat menu.

exercise also helps a lot; you may think all the sweat is gonna clog the pores, but the thing is, when you sweat, you actually unblock the pores with the, uh, sweat. and it's just good for your body in general.

and make sure to moisturize your skin before you put on makeup!!
Have a look at the website www.cresults.com.au, this skincare is fabulous, I would never be without it. It has made such a difference to my skin, hydrated and even skin tone, I was so impressed with this skincare, I became a consultant, only two years old, Aussie owned and made, 60 day money back guarantee. You can order online. You must also eat healthy foods, fresh fuits and vegies, stay away from fats and sugars, plenty of water, take supplements. Exercise and good sleep.
Try finding a product with lavender essential oil in it. Lavender will get rid of the excess oil but also add more oil to the dry parts of your face. It's a great balancing agent.
Don't overwash your face, but it's good to use a gentle scrub (St. Ives, maybe?) to get all the dirt, oils, and dead skin off.
    Proactive.

    Sun Screen.

    No tanning booths.

    Don't eat greasy food.

    Salmon.

    Fish Oil Vitamins.

    Vitamin B %26amp; D.
Vaseline works miracles. it feels gross but it works.tyra banks uses it all the time.

What's a good face care regimen for oily skin and acne prone also what kind of products do u recommend for it?

For oily skin, I would suggest getting special tissues made to especially soak up the oil. You can get them either @ CVS or Victorias Secret($10).

For acne, dont get proactive because its fake. Use an oil free cleanser and toner. If you use a cleanser that has oil, then thats bad. Look for one that uses micro-beads to clean deep in your pores. Use CVS brand because its cheaper. Then, try not to touch your face as much as you usually do, because your hands pick up a bunch of oil. use ZIRH if you are an athlete, and use Clearasil regularly.

.What is a good foundation to use for oily skin?
Maybelline Shine and Oil control, its like powder. And it works great
Probably one that specifies oily skin. Neutrogena has great products for oily skin as does Bior'e both are for people with problem skin like acne, oily skin, large pores. I use both products and am very happy with each of them. Neutrogena has a tinted moisturizer with an SPF and I love it, you can also get the soaps night cremes as well as masks in each of these brands. Good luck and happy shopping.
I have very oily skin and I just bought a foundation by Revlon for oily skin..I was impressed that at the end of the work day all I needed was to use an oil absorbing sheet and then I looked fresh again. The make up stays on very well. If you haven't used those oil absorbing sheets that are sold by different manufactures you should definately buy some. They help so much.
I have really oily skin as well. I use Prescriptives' Virtual Matte foundation. It absorbs surface shine and when used daily, actually helps reduce oil production over time. Natural exfoliants smooth skin, while SPF 15 and anti-oxidants protect from environmental damage. Virtual Matte Oil-Control Makeup is medium to full coverage with a satin Matte Finish.

To make sure your foundation is set and flawless, your best friends could be on of two best matifying primers in the world: the Smashbox Photo Finish Spf 15 With Dermaxyl鈩?Complex or the Shiseido Matifying Veil.

If you're going for the nude look, than you'll be OK with putting just the primer on your face, followed by a light touch of concealer, mascara, blush and gloss. If you're going for the full look that put the primer on first and follow with all other makeup you might want to wear (foundation, loose powder...).

Before I forget - if your face produces oils galore, you might want to retouch your matte power by purchasing a product like Lancome T-zone matifier, which can be put on top of your makeup as needed.
    covergirl shine control
Have you thought of using Bare Escentuals, a mineral makeup. It's a powder and does a great job of mopping up oil while providing great coverage. Also, this powder won't aggravate acne if you have any. They make dark shades.
I have oily skin in the T-zone and I use Merle Norman Lasting oil free foundation. I use a foundation brush to apply it so I don't get excess oils from my fingers. It stays more matte than any other foundation I've ever tried. Also if I want it to look flawless I use a make-up primer underneath. It helps to hide pores, fine lines and minimize oil.
Liquid Mineral Foundation by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. I searched for them and bought on-line. That is what I use. BTW I am African American too.
You want to look for NON oil based foundations and you can get cover girl, neutragena from virtually any drug store.

What is the best liquid foundation for oily acne prone skin?

What is the best brand something not too expensive that I can purchase at ulta or a drug store...What is the best liquid foundation for oily acne prone skin?
If you're going for drugstore stuff, I have two general recommendations for you. Since your skin is oily, a long-lasting foundation will help decrease the appearance of oiliness on the skin, as that type of makeup is made so that it doesn't need to be touched up (i.e. powdered to look less shiny) as often. Revlon Colorstay and Covergirl Outlast are two types foundation in this category. Another recommendation would be Neutrogena Skinclearing makeup. While it won't actually clear your skin completely, from my experience it won't make it worse as some founations tend to. The only downside is that it doesn't control oil, so you would need to buy a mattifying lotion or be prepared to use blotting papers several times. Good luck! What is the best liquid foundation for oily acne prone skin?
I have oily skin, try Covergirl Clean Makeup Oil Control formula. It's liquid, controls oil, and is fragrance free so it doesn't irritatre skin.

What should I do for my oily/dry skin?

After I wash my face, it is so dry like flaking and I keep on re-applying more moisturizer but then during the day, it becomes oily. What should I do? I use Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser and Clinique gel. Any help? Should I change my products to something else or is there something else I can do?What should I do for my oily/dry skin?
Just try using a washcloth with water for now. Stay away from products that contain mineral oil. Mineral oil breaks your skin out and makes it VERY oily! Wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed.

Good luck! What should I do for my oily/dry skin?
Try changing from a commercial brand to one from a healthfood store./ or at least non supermarket/ pharmacy brands.

Commercial brands strip the skin of natural oils,

the skin then replies with overproduction of sebum, to make up for it,

    making it oily faster.

You might also want to look at changing the ';gel'; you are using, to moisturize.
Try buying those oil sheets that you can carry around, and absorb the oil in the problem areas of your face when they come up. Try using a moisturizer especially for oily skin. Also, if you wear make up, try Dream Matte Mousse as opposed to liquid make up. Here's some suggestions:

I have sensitive skin that gets dried out easily. I have tried proactive but it gave me a severe rash. I have pretty visible pores and my cheeks are always red just under my eyes. I want something that doesn't cost very much money, but will help with the acne. And my skin is constantly oily. So pretty much my skin sucks and I am tired of using things that don't work. What skincare should i use for my oily and sensitive skin?
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.

You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.

Well good luck and best wishes. What skincare should i use for my oily and sensitive skin?
鈥etaphil There's no bells %26amp; whistles with this baby-mild product that even dermatologists swear by. So why is this $10 cleanser such a must-have? Okay, i kinda have that problem too, but i u have bangs, put it away, like my avatar. I am doing that and my face doesnt get irritated anymore like last time when i had it on my face. Also, i know u think proactive is all that, but as u say that it made u red and u want something that wont cost much, well, I used to use Clean %26amp; Clear and that kind of worked. But, now, I just use something you might think is crazy...VICKS. Vicks really works!!! I tried it and now im using it. It helped me a LOT!!!! So, thats one and make sure that your face is washed before u do that. Maybe oatmeal soap, thats nice. For the oily problem again, u can use powder, but I have those mini ones that prevents oily skin. Before you put that over your face, put moisturizer. But, make sure the moisturizer is dried, so your skin wont dry up and it wont peel parts of your skin. For better results on powder, ,make sure it matches your skin tone. HOPE THIS HELPS LOTS! :)
cetaphil daily facial cleanser with cetaphil face lotion with spf works great

  • Is the original olay moisturizer suitable for oily and sensitive skin?

i just heard somewhere that lanolin is a ';sensitizer';? any bad experiences with the product? Is the original olay moisturizer suitable for oily and sensitive skin?
do not use that. i have sensative skin %26amp; am allergic to lanolin. seaora on line is the best. u can also check to see if someone sells it in your areaIs the original olay moisturizer suitable for oily and sensitive skin?
i haven't had any bad experiences with it, but everyone's skin is different
Each person has different skin conditions, thus there are different products for different skins. A product good for a young person with acne may not be suitable for an older woman with dry skin, and vice versa.

There is website called Lucy's Hub, which does a good job helping people sorting out the best moisturizer for each skin condition.

It is new, so there aren't enough inputs from real users yet. But if we start using it, I believe it will become very helpful for many people very quickly. If you like the site, please spread the word. Here is the link: http://LucysHub.com
I am a slightly ';older'; woman who has teenage daughters. I tell them all the time do not put anything on oily skin that has or says Oil of anything on it, it will just make the problem worse.

I have oliy skin %26amp;%26amp; i want to get rid of it but i don't no how too do i use like a cream or something.

P.S. i use stuff for acne already (in the shower)I have oily skin how do i get rid of it?
I have the same problem, and have learned that no matter what you do you cannot get rid of it. However, you can control it! :-D

Always use oil-free products. I would suggest Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash and moisturize with a light oil-free moisturizer.

People think that by moisturizing your skin will get oilier. HOWEVER, if you don't moisturize, your skin will get dried out and produce excess oils which you do NOT want so get moisturizing!!!

Also, i have found that drinking a ton of water helps.

Good luck! xI have oily skin how do i get rid of it?
    Control with your diet.

Take 1 or 2 days complete boiled food without oil and very less spices, in a week.

Reduce oil, fat, spices, junk food, tea or coffee, dairy products and cold drinks in your diet.

Use more green vegetables, fresh fruit and fruit juice in your diet.

    Always have a light dinner.

Drink minimum 4 to 5 liters of water daily.

Don't use any oil base skin care product.

I suggest to use natural home made recipes for your skin and face beauty. For more about recipes and products, you can visit the source site.
do you mean oily skin on your face or body??

cuz i had the same problem. (on my face)

check what cream/ lotion you use maybe that's the problem.

i use neutrogena on my face.

also try using oil free soap cleansers.

and someone answered my question, they said to use reciept paper. just pat it on the oily parts and just soaks up the oil. it sounds wierd but it works :)
you can't get rid of it...

but go to a dermatologist and see if they can help you with maybe controlling it

I use MAC loose powder to set my makeup, then i carry a pressed powder, but apply it with a powder brush. I love MAC, but their powders do contain clay so may be clogging for oily skin. I try to use less powder in the summer when i sweat more. I carry aveda spray toner for oily skin it comes in a small glass bottle that I keep in the fridge over night. Take it out and pop it in my purse. When my skin gets oily, I just lightly spray it. Any remaining oil, I blot away using blotting papers (Clean and clear makes a good one, so does MAC and Victoria Secret. Clean and Clear are the cheapest.)
first u have to wash ur face with hot soapy water to clean it before u put powder on ur face.

I would definitely definitely reccomend DESERT ESSENCE THOROUGHLY CLEAN FACIAL CLEANSER. You can purchase it at health food stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Henry's or online at Iherb.com. It is 100% vegan and contains organic ingredients and is all natural. When you have acne and combination skin harsh cleansers and facial products can aggravate it and throw the balance off which makes things worse. This product has a very silky texture and removes even the most heavy duty makeup. It's natural and gentle.

I have a youtube chanel where I reviewed the product. (www.youtube.com/moneyandmakeup) Just find the video and you can see what it looks like.

Also, it is very inexpensive. It runs for about 6 to 7 bucks in stores. If you want to get it for almost free you can go to www.IHerb.com and search for it. Then when you get to check out you can enter the code LIK077 for $5.00.. I believe it's $5.78 on there and if you go to the top of the page and click on ';free products'; you can select free stuff you want them to include in your package. It really is free.

Well hope that helps! Check out my youtube vids!

P.S The 8.oz bottle lasts a really long time. I'd say about 2 months. they also offer a 32 oz bottle on IHerb.com for $7.99!! That one lasts for like a year!!

Thank YouI have oily skin and I'm 12 weeks pregnant how can I change this?
I don't think a lightener is a good idea especially if your skin is currently sensitive, you could burn yourself. It will settle down soon, pregnancy does odd things to the body! Just keep on with a good skin care regime and hope for the best. I didn't glow during my pregnancy but ballooned and got spotty ! What is a good product for acne and oily skin? BIORE? PROACVITVE?

i have oily base skin and often get breakouts. i use biore ice cleanser but it doesnt work too well. and i have a lot of dark scarring from old blemishes. i was thinking of using proactive, is it worth it or is any thing else better? What is a good product for acne and oily skin? BIORE? PROACVITVE?
I was the same way. My skin is super oily and i always used to break out. Nothing worked. I tried proactive and it did nothing. I then tried other stuff and resorted back to pro-active. After using it for 2 weeks, i saw a change and from there, it just got better. The problem was, i never gave it a chance to work. So the answer would be. . . use proactive! I would get the refining mask too (only use it once or twice a week on the spots that need it). Make sure you get the moisturizer as well, if you don't, your skin will dry out. If you don't like the pro-active moisturizer use Dermatologica light textured moisturizer (you can get it on amazon).

Other than that, i would just drink a lot of water and make sure you aren't touching your face.

oh and food does not effect breakouts. What is a good product for acne and oily skin? BIORE? PROACVITVE?
Use a gentle facial cleanser. Use a moisturizer for ';oily'; skin ... this would moisturize without using oils. Wash 2x per day.

How can you have oily AND dry skin?

I am filling a questionnare for my appointment for acne.

They ask what type of skin I have.

I have oily skin, but some areas can be dry when I wash my face with water. But after few minutes, oils will produce, making the dryness disappear.

So is this considered oily and dry skin? What is considered oily AND dry skin?

Or should I mark that I only have oily skin? Thank you.How can you have oily AND dry skin?
First of all,it is possible to have both oily and dry skin although only on certain areas. This would be called combination skin type where your skin is oily on the T-Zone areas and dry on the cheek areas. If you have this kind of situation, you're most probably have combination skin type. However,if you're skin is totally oily even though only at certain areas, then you have oily skin.Hope this helps(:

P/s:The reason that they are asking for your skin type is to prescribe the right acne medication for your skin type.If you're not really sure regarding this, ask them to get you a skin analysis during your appointment.Good luck with your appointment(:How can you have oily AND dry skin?
I would imagine that 'oily and dry,' would described skin that is oily in some places and dry in others.

    4) Use a clarifying clay mask twice a week.

    5) Change your pillowcase more often - bacteria goes from your skin into your pillowcase, then back to your skin the next night. I use about 3 pillowcases a week.

    6) Try a mineral-based makeup - I use Bare Escentuals, but if you find it costly, a lot of mass retail brands are bringing out their own versions of mineral makeup.

    7) Try cutting out dairy products - a very large percentage of adults have milk allergies that show up as acne - I only learned this after cutting out milk because my husband can't digest it - my skin cleared up dramatically and quickly - then my doctor told me about the allergy. If you do cut out milk, you should see a difference in less than 3 weeks, if not, then milk is not the culprit for you.

Well, I use N.Y.C Simply Flawless Airbrush Make-Up for All Skin Types. It's so great! You just spray it on, and your covered! Plus it's light, so you don't even feel it's on! It's also very long-lasting.

    Hope this helped! :-)

My skin is oily, sensitive and how can i free my skin from acne?

I live in Bangladesh and the weather is very bad. All the times i am to stay outside. My skin is oily, sensitive and full of acne, How can i free my skin from acne within very short time?My skin is oily, sensitive and how can i free my skin from acne?
there are pills such as accutane or roaccutane that can help but be cautious of the side effects. I have oily sensitive skin also, best thing to do is stay away from salicilic acid soaps, it will cause our skin to break out even more. Use a mild soap, such as Dove, lever 2000, or use a facial soap such as Neutrogena Deep Cleanse foam and use the neutro... Deep Cleanse facial scrub with it. they work great. If you want faster results to a clearer face use a Benzoyl Peroxide cream/paste directly on the pimple or problem area. Great place to buy facial cleaners and treatments for our skin types is www.acne.org All of there creams are benzoyl peroxide creams.

What is a good product that gets rid of acne and oily skin.?

i heard proactive makes your face dry and if you stop using it you'll break out reaaaaally bad. but i dont know for sure.. i want something that works reaaly good and makes skin soft and pretty.pleaaaaaaaase helpWhat is a good product that gets rid of acne and oily skin.?
well, my sister uses benzaclin and it works really well.

its prescription though, so you must get it from a doctor, but theres no side affects, so you should get it.What is a good product that gets rid of acne and oily skin.?
    i use this product called ';nature's cure';

its a pill and a cream that you use/take twice a day and it works amazingly. its a lot cheaper than proactive and my skin cleared up in three days by using it. i'm pretty sure you can find it at any drug store or at jewel osco.

proactive, if anything, made my skin worse. it dried it out way too much. with nature's cure, it cleaned my skin nicely and all i have to do is put on a light moisturizer and i'm set for the day.

and oily skin doesn't go away, you just need to know how to maintain it and keep it in good condition. plus when you're older, you won't have dry wrinkly skin, so consider yourself lucky while everyone else has that nasty skin after tanning too much.

hope i helped and good luck =D
Proactiv works really good and it doesnt do anything bad to your skin when you stop using it. It just doesnt prevent pimples from coming back....which any product will do if you stop using it. There is stuff similar to proactiv, it is called AcneFree It comes with a 3 month supply instead of month like proactiv, it has been known to work better and is about half the cost too!!! I have seen it at Walmart and Sam's Club
A bottle of Tee Tree oil from boots, dab some on cotton wool and rub in before you sleep, do this regularly and you're skin will start to improve.
Try this A mask of egg whites and lemon juice 1tea spoon juice 2 egg whites apply for 20 mins, rinse with warm water.

Best drugstore foundation for mostly dry/slightly oily skin?

    - Most of the skin on my face is dry; only the skin on my nose is oily.

    - I am fairly acne-prone.

    - I have fair skin. Not stark white, or anything, but still light.

What is the best drugstore foundation with great coverage for my skin type? Thank you in advance.Best drugstore foundation for mostly dry/slightly oily skin?
i've got a skintype very similar to yours, only i've got a massive amount of freckles that need fading...

and for that, i use maybelline dream matte mousse. my one tip i tell people who call this foundation too heavy or dry is to mix it with a moisturizer...if you do this, it will tone down all your uneven skintone, offer even coverage, and it will moisturize your dry skin and neutralize your oily skin...

mix equal parts moisturizer (i like clean %26amp; clear's morning burst) with the foundation...and just use as a tinted moisturizer (only this will have better coverage.) and the good part is that you can alter the amount of moisturizer or foundation to your liking. best of luck.Best drugstore foundation for mostly dry/slightly oily skin?
mabye try the true match formula. at rite aid they have a thing you hold up on your wrist to match your skin. also, i use a neutrogena cover up stick for the sports where i need foundation. it is oil-free so i think that would help and it works relly well. I would try some of the neutrogena products because they are good for your skin and can clear it up. I love them. i hope this helps.
Any mineral based powder foundation should work fine, because it will soak up the excess oils on your face getting rid of that shinning apperance.
Maybelline PureStay Powder. Use an oil-free moisturizer underneath (so the dry parts don't get flaky). It's got really good coverage for a powder, but doesn't get greasy.
