i have acne prone skin.
and it isnt terribly oily, but it does tend to get oily.
and i was wondering if too much FACE makeup will make your face more oily then it would have been in the first place? Can too much makeup make your skin oily?
No, however if you do not use an oil-free makeup and your face is oily it will make your skin appear oilier since it's more oil on your face.
Try to use an oil-free powder foundation.
Also carry some blot powder around to get rid of the shine and use an oil mattifier under your makeup to control oil.Can too much makeup make your skin oily?
Makeup CANNOT make your skin more oily. This is because the amount of oil produced by your skin is mainly controlled by hormones.
However, if you are using greasy or oily products on your face, it may make your skin feel more oily. Choose products that are less oily where possible (e.g. use powder blush, not cream blush) and use a mattifying lotion before you apply makeup. A good oil-absorbing powder such as MAC Blot powder will help a lot, as will oil-blotting sheets.
it can clog pores which lead to acne, and if you are prone to oily skin, then yes, because most of the products (not powder) are oil based/ semi-oil based
powder products trap your sebum on your face, preventing it from leaving and thus becoming even more oily (buildup)
yes it can
generally, you should try wearing powder or a light base instead of foundation because foundation can make your face oily within five minutes of applying it
That's only if you use foundation or blush or powder. Other wise no not necessarily.
Hope this helps!!! : )

I have oily skin too, and I found that organic powder foundation works the best for my skin.
Hope that helps!
not more oily but it will aggravate the problem. go for oil free make up with a mattifier in it
